THANKSGIVING

It's Thursday... but not just any thursday. Today is Thanksgiving, A day we set aside for the giving of thanks. So I guess today, I should be especially thankful... But why? Why today? Why today more than any other day? I'm thankful it's a reminder to be thankful... But I also don't want to just do that today. I want to practice living a life of thanksgiving. Not just one day a year, But each day of the year. Today is nevertheless,  a special day, One I look forward to, And a great reminder for when I forget... So today, Seeing that it's Thursday... a day I have set aside to remember to practice praise. And it's also Thanksgiving, A day our nation has set aside for counting our blessings, I do praise Jesus for: Time with family. Abundant life. Walks, holding hands. Listening to others lists of thanks. Cool, brisk air. My Savior's life given. Prayer. Carl. Water. Working together i...

Today

Life rushes by Days becoming weeks and months before my eyes I wonder, Will it ever slow? Only Taking moments to be still. Breathe in and out. Soak in beauty, love, joy, sorrow. Remember His presence. Don't. Miss. Today.

Peace of God for my soul. The ability to feel: both physically and emotionally. Christ.

What Makes a Warrior

I sit here in the quiet,  Yet I know a war is raging. The stillness can be so deceptive, So can the rush. In the middle of it all, His Kingdom is coming... In so many little ways, It is already here. Yet in so many other ways, We need it still. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Reign in this life. Reign in this world. May Your Kingdom come. As I sit in the quiet, I know of the battle's raging. But... What can I  do?? "But You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes" His Spirit inside, Can turn a receptionist to a warrior. And in the quiet, Feeling useless is not necessary. Instead, beg God, Make Your Kingdom come. Make Your name seen as Holy. Bring Unity among Your people. Be Lord of this life. Live through me. Reign over me. Amen.

Hi friends!  It's that time of week...time to take 5 minutes out of my day to thank the Lord for His many blessings.  I have not been as faithful to record those blessings here lately, as school has been keeping me pretty busy and Thursday's are a bit of a crazy day, but I still have ever so much to praise Him for.  I always have ever so much to praise Him for...much more than 5 minutes will ever allow me to write, but for this week anyways, here's 5 minutes worth of my thoughts on all the Lord has blessed me with: Time...without it, when would anything get done?? Getting to hold baby Camille this past weekend. Block towers built with Patrick and Carl. Conversation, and the chance to go deep and real with others on how we live out this Christ-centered life. Cold medicines. Sleep...it truly is such a gift! Good questions, and people who come up with them. Hot tea with honey. Enjoying the out of doors. Life. God's Word, and the life it speaks to m...

"I'm so thankful I live in a world where there are Octobers." ~L.M. Montgomery Today's thankful Thursday post is going to be a bit different.  See instead of a list, I'm going to tell you about one thing (sort of) that I am super thankful for from these past couple weeks, and how God has been using it in my life.  I'm praising the Lord today for men and women of the faith who have gone before me, and the example of their lives. I've been working on this project for school on 5 key figures in church history.  It's meant skimming a bunch of biographies over the past week or so...but as I've done that I've been amazed by all I can learn even if I don't really read something!  And I have also come away incredibly humbled and challenged.  I finished up the project last night around 10pm, but I don't want to forget what I've learned... Did you realize that Fanny Crosby had Genesis-Deuteronomy, most of the New Testament, man...
