A Lived out Harmony

So I was reading through old journals the other day and came across this word picture . . . I thought I'd share--after a little editing :) . . .   Life is meant to be a duet, a harmony.  Lived out in the ups and downs of human life--it is a dependence on the God of the universe.  It is to be a blending of the Divine and human, woven together so intricately that you cannot tell one from the other.  For this is what Jesus so perfectly portrayed.  He was fully God and fully man, and He is our example.  Much more though, He lives in us!  And it is His example of the Divine and human so perfectly woven into one that we are to imitate . . . our lives in harmony with God and His plan.  When we look just at our own lives sometimes we see missing pieces, and sometimes it doesn't make sense.  Often times it just does not look or sound pretty.  But that is the way harmony works--we are dependent on the other part--because without it we don't reall...

Not Living like a Fool.

I was struggling this past weekend.  Struggling with doubting myself and where God has put me.  Going into the weekend I had a conversation with someone that brought to mind the whole decision not to go to college right away, and made me doubt whether or not that was right.  The person I had this conversation with didn't question me or give me a hard time, but I could tell they didn't quite know how to respond to me.  I get that pretty often.  My life doesn't look like what people see as normal for someone who graduated high school a year and a half ago.  I didn't follow the path that 11 out of 13 of my classmates took.  And oftentimes that puzzles people. Sometimes, when I get that "I don't know how to respond to you" vibe, it makes me wonder how to respond to myself.  Am I following the right path?  Or should I have done what most other high school graduates do?  Am I living God's plan, or am I just purposeless?  These were the ...

Isaiah 30:21

Last night I had a meeting about something I was considering pursuing this fall. I went to watch someone that I was thinking about shadowing in action. I fully expected that I would continue to pursue this area of work by being a shadow. My expectations weren't met. When the evening ended I clearly realized that this was not the area for me. It's not where my gifts and passions best fit. A little frustrating? At first . . . yes, but as I mulled it over I came to the realization that I'm thankful for God's direction in this way. Even though it means I have even less of an idea of what I want to do, it means He is directing. That's so exciting! So . . . that brings me to this verse, the title of my blog. "Your ears will hear a word behind you, 'This is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right or to the left" (Isaiah 30:21 NASB). No, I didn't hear an audible voice, but I could tell God was leading me--not into the way I ha...
