It's been awhile.  But on Carl and I's most recent planning day, I decided I should try to start writing these again! That decision came from reading Psalm 145 and thinking about how many times the passage referred to speaking of what God has done.  I want to faithfully do that...in my home, in my family, with my friends, to the world.  This is just a little piece of that.  


So here we go ;)  5 minutes of things I'm thankful to the Lord for:

 Life.

Grace.

A bluebird flying through the air.

Focus...I've seen the Lord grow my ability to focus on what is right in front of me in this season, and I am grateful!

Mornings.

My sweet boys.

Conversations with Hudson that remind me of how God is working.

I love how he randomly reminds me:

"Mommy, God is growing us.  We're going to be so tall!"

Makes me laugh, maybe he doesn't quite get it yet, but he's getting there.

"God is working"

"Can we pray for...?"

"Father God, thank You for fixing our eyes on You."

That last one!  I often pray for that, but don't often return to thank the Lord.

Out of the mouth of babes.

So I guess this is me here saying,

Lord, thank you for fixing my eyes on You, and for doing so through my almost three year old.

You are good.

Our Love Story (Part 3)

(Missed the earlier installments?  The story starts here:  Our Love Story-Part One ) A week and a half after our first meeting, I was sitting at my desk at work, and had just told KJ to pray I would hear from him soon. (Or maybe I just needed patience?) Opening my facebook messages I discovered one that started with, "Dear Allison," And the rest is history. The Story Behind Her Eyes

Wait, When did those eyes staring back at me change? When did the girl become a woman? There's a story behind her eyes. Was it when she realized love hurts... But is still SO worth it? When the world became a little more black than white? Was it when life became a series of routine days? When joy became a choice? Or, I know, When the perfect walls came crashing down? Actually, no, I don't know. When does the face of a girl change? Behind the story in her eyes, I still see joy. Still see the girl inside. She's just . . . aware.
