Today I can't help but think about this day last year,
The day I figured out Carl was coming to surprise me,
And propose.
Needless to say, the surprise didn't quite work.
But as I think about the things I'm thankful for,
This past year is near the top of the list.
It's definitely had it's challenges,
But I'm thankful for a year of knowing the one I get to love,
Above all others on this earth,
Till Jesus comes back! 
But to put that in perspective, 
Top of the list is definitely:
The gospel of Christ.
That He lived,
perfectly,
Then died and rose again.
All to establish the new covenant...
Where it is His work,
Not mine,
That gives me right standing,
Before the throne of the Majesty on high.
Now that's something to be thankful for!

Hot showers,
The ability to learn,
The Bible.

Cultures,
Life,
Babies,
Children,
Grown ups,
Elderly people,
The gateway of death to heaven...
(A great aunt died this week, I'm thankful to know where she's going).
Music,
And the chance I get to share it as a teacher!

Our Love Story (Part 3)

(Missed the earlier installments?  The story starts here:  Our Love Story-Part One ) A week and a half after our first meeting, I was sitting at my desk at work, and had just told KJ to pray I would hear from him soon. (Or maybe I just needed patience?) Opening my facebook messages I discovered one that started with, "Dear Allison," And the rest is history. The Story Behind Her Eyes

Wait, When did those eyes staring back at me change? When did the girl become a woman? There's a story behind her eyes. Was it when she realized love hurts... But is still SO worth it? When the world became a little more black than white? Was it when life became a series of routine days? When joy became a choice? Or, I know, When the perfect walls came crashing down? Actually, no, I don't know. When does the face of a girl change? Behind the story in her eyes, I still see joy. Still see the girl inside. She's just . . . aware.
